You can learn more about ADACAS and what we do through our annual reports.
Our constitution provides the basis for who we are and what we do:
ADACAS gets funding from governments so that we can provide advocacy free of charge to our clients. With thanks to our funding bodies:
Commonwealth government: National Aged Care Advocacy Program;Commonwealth Home Support Program, National Disability Advocacy Program
The ACT government: Community Assistance and Support Program; Community Mental Health Program
From time to time we also get funding for projects on advocacy or supported decision making. We currently have funding from Disability ACT and the NDIS Sector Development Fund for our SDM Link & Learn Project. We are funded by ACT Government to develop and delivery elder abuse awareness training and resources.
Adacas provides help and support to people with disabilities, the elderly and their carers.
Advocacy is about helping a person to be heard in the decisions that affect their life. Advocacy aims to increase a person’s control over goods, services and quality of life
